The following is our program for those who want to participate in continued learning for adults. Enjoy single lectures, workshops and short courses with no exams or grades! It is learning for the joy of learning. Listed below are the courses which were offered during the 2010 Fall term and those being offered during the 2011 Winter term here at the church. 1. Fitness 'n' Fun, Stretch 'n' Tone: This class is structured to accommodate all fitness levels. Each session will have specific exercises aimed at building strength, endurance and flexibility of all muscle groups, improving balance, coordination, agility, improved breathing and stress control: taught by a certified fitness instructor. The class meets each Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:00 to 10:00 AM. Instructor: Art Anderssen. Fee $30 for 10 lessons.
2. Card Embroidery Class Returns: Create beautiful personalized greeting cards, using colored thread and card stock, by attending a five-week class that will be again offered on Wednesday mornings from 10 AM to noon from September 7 to October 5. Popular in Europe, this new craft is growing in the United States. From simple to intricate, participants will learn, step-by-step how to add a touch of elegance to handmade card creations or scrap booking projects. There is a $25 course fee. First time participants may need to purchase a packet of project tools and supplies that are estimated at $35 plus a piercing tool and pad costing $5 each. Class enrollment is limited to assure individual attention from instructor Mary Melvin. See the photo below for examples of card embroidery:
