Fellowship Dinner
From October through March our congregation and many
visitors enjoy a monthly dinner on the third Monday at
6:30PM. They are
pot luck affairs, and we bring our favorite
dishes. To make sure there's plenty, we bring enough for
our own party plus eight. Every dinner has a theme which
adds to the festivity and fun.
The April version of the fellowship dinner is a church
picnic. Again, each family brings a favorite dish and the
church provides grilled hamburgers and hot dogs. The 2006
version of the picnic was held on our campus for the first
time. It was a smashing success! This year's picnic
featured a bounce house and pony rides for the children. In
addition to the delicious food, the hit of the event was
the dunk tank in which the pastoral and program staff took
turns on the stool.
Mariners
We have an active Mariners program ... fellowship
with a nautical theme. This large organization meets
throughout the year (although it is most active from
October to May). Participants are divided into some 8 to 10
ships (no, you don't have to own a boat to belong
... we just call our groups ships), which meet as
often as the crew decides. They sail to
local restaurants, dinner theaters, other points of
interest, or to a crew member's home for food, fun and
fellowship.
