Burnt Store Presbyterian Church has a keen sense of
mission. We are firmly committed to reaching out to the
community and to the world in the name of our Savior, Jesus
Christ.
The Mission Ministry of our Session advises how we
allocate our benevolence dollars. Although our total
mission budget amount is determined at the beginning of the
year, the committee meets monthly throughout the year to
consider requests for funds from the more than two dozen
organizations that we support locally and abroad. In
addition to monetary support, our ministry is committed to
providing people in a variety of hands-on projects
such as the home we built in 2000 for Habitat for Humanity.
In 1983, when our church was organized, it adopted as its
motto: Burnt Store Presbyterian Church ... a church
reaching up and reaching out. We have formalized these
words into our mission statement. May our Lord enable us to
remember these words and to minister accordingly.

Update on Haiti Outreach Ministries (HOM)
Blanchard School where Burnt Store Presbyterian Church
sponsored children attend has had the second floor ceiling
poured and hopes to have at least partial availability of
the new floor for classes in September. The Blanchard
Vocational School teaching tailoring, sewing, crafts and
information technology classes will open its doors in
September as planned for the first classes. Solar panels
are being used to supply the energy for the power-intensive
need of these classes. It is truly awesome to see the hopes
and prayers of Pastor Leon and HOM come to fruition. The
Lord is hard at work in Haiti.
Calendar Note: On the weekend of September
15/16, 2007, Pastor Luc, Senior Pastor at Blanchard Church,
will visit BSPC and speak briefly at Sunday's worship
services. A Pot Luck Supper is planned with Pastor Luc for
Saturday, September 15 where we will hear the latest news
from Haiti, get an update on our sponsored children and
have a front row seat to see Mission At Work!
