Music Man, Venice Theatre, Venice, FL
Music Man, winner of 5 Tony Awards. The plot concerns con man Harold Hill, who poses as a boys' band organizer and leader and sells band instruments and uniforms to naive townsfolk before skipping town with the cash. In River City, Iowa, prim librarian and piano teacher Marian Paroo sees through him, but when Hill helps her younger brother overcome his fear of social interactions due to his lisp, Marian begins to fall in love with Harold. Harold, in turn falling for Marian, risks being caught to win her. Venice Theatre was started in 1950 as The Venice Little Theater. The name change was made in 2008 because “we are no longer little”. Since 1998, Venice Theatre has been the most-awarded community theatre in Florida and in the Southeast United States. Before the show, we will enjoy dinner at the renowned Amish Dinner Buffet at Troyer’s Dutch Heritage with time to browse the gift shop or the food and bakery shop before departing for the theater. Dinner is included in the price. Trip also includes front-center theater ticket, motor coach transportation and all gratuities.
Depart BSPC at 3:30 PM via motor coach. Return to BSPC approximately 11:30 PM
Cost per person $67.00. Pay and register at the Information Carousel or at the Church office. Reservations requested by January 29, 2012.

A Day in Miami, Miami, FL
Upon arrival in Miami we will make our way to a city high rise dining room with a glass wall that affords diners a bird's-eye view of downtown. An outdoor terrace with umbrella-shaded tables is even more picturesque and you can walk around the terrace and see many facets of the city of Miami. After lunch we will have a guided tour of Vizcaya and a self guided tour of the Vizcaya Gardens. Vizcaya is a National Historic Landmark and a museum owned by Miami-Dade County and accredited by the American Association of Museums. Built by agricultural industrialist James Deering in 1916, Vizcaya Museum & Gardens features a Main House, ten acres of formal gardens, and a rockland hammock (native forest). Our favorite Miami guide and friend, Gordon Hoover, will have a couple surprises for us as well. Those of you who traveled to Miami and Key West with us will recall Gordon for his vast knowledge and warm personality … or maybe by his suspenders! Our last stop will be the Lincoln Road Mall and an opportunity for you to find a bite to eat before heading home. Lincoln Road is a pedestrian mall between Alton Road and Washington Avenue. It is, once again, thriving as a shopping and dining area. Unique stores offer items not typically found in malls, and restaurants and cafes are common. Most restaurants offer either indoor or outdoor seating, including in the middle of the pedestrian mall area. The people watching on Lincoln Road can match any place in the world. Trip includes a breakfast snack, lunch, guided tour of Vizcaya, self-guided tour of Vizcaya Gardens, a surprise or two with Gordon, a chance to experience a little of Lincoln Road Mall, deluxe motor coach transportation and all gratuities.
Depart BSPC at 7:00 AM via motor coach. Return to BSPC approximately 10:00 PM
Cost per person $89.00. Pay and register at the Information Carousel or at the Church office. Reservations requested by February 12, 2012.
